Carel Bezuidenhout aka “Raasbekkie” was a well-known and loved friend and master of ceremonies (MC) in the trail running and mountain biking communities. He passed away on 16 October 2022 at only 46 years old.

To commemorate his life and to raise fund for his family, Raasbekkie’s friends hosted a Raasbekkie Memorial Run and fundraiser and sold socks and caps with his catchphrase “Lekker Lekker Lekker” printed on them. This website was a passion project and Digital Trails’ contribution to the cause.

It helped to advertise the run and fundraising options and to spread awareness. The website is simplistic to make it as easy as possible to participate and contribute to the cause. Just like the Memorial Run, the Raasbekkie website aimed to celebrate who Carel was in his life and portray his incredible spirit.
